We are once again bringing favourite mini fiber arts workshops to the show throughout the entire weekend, as well as a one hour SEMINAR on Saturday and a full length 3 hour CUT STRAND triloom weaving class on Sunday.
The short 45-60 minute (approximately) hands on workshops are easy to fit in between classes in the show ring. All tools and materials are provided (except for wheel spinning classes, read below).
All you need to do is get your name on the registration sheet at the booth and turn up at the time your workshop commences. On Thursday we will have sign up sheets for all workshops laid out on a table at the Moonwood Farm Fiber Studio booth during setup (starting around noon), just come and write your name on anything you'd like to do.
EVERYTHING is still completely FREE!
And as a bonus, Otto and Joanne Strauch from Strauch Fiber Equipment will be in the booth with us so that you get to meet the makers of what I consider to be hands down the best line of carders on the market for alpaca fiber. They *love* to talk 'machines', so feel free to stop by and pick their brains :) Joanne is also happy to show anyone who's curious about hand cards how to use them - a fantastic alternative if you can't afford a drum carder but need to get started on prepping your fiber for spinning or felting.
Note that the workshops usually fill rapidly, so get your name on the attendance sheets early!
Wheel spinners, check the requirements of the workshop you are interested in, some of them need you to bring things to the workshop - if so, they are clearly listed.
See you soon for the last alpaca show that Roo and the gang will be attending, it is time to retire from the road!
