News: (updated 31 January 2017)
After so many years of being on the road and giving so much of myself to both the alpaca and the fiber industry, the time has come for me to rein in the old metal horse and focus on my health, my family & friends, and my creativity.
I've kept to my personal promise of just one event per month for 2017 - at the time that I'm writing this my schedule is full. In 2018 you will find me at only two events, there is a small possibility of a third being added. There you will be able to attend my How To Train Your Fiber workshop and shop in my booth.
A book and video are in the works to continue sharing my knowledge and techniques with alpaca owners and fiber artists, and plans are being set in motion to finally establish my open-to-the-public studio at Lowe Mill here in Huntsville, sharing space with my good friend and colleague Amy Shelton from Crochetville.
This will allow me to truly slow down, to reconnect with creativity and flow, to restore balance (my word for 2017!), to be home for my son, and be able to properly harvest my very well established muscadine vine for the first time in two years so that I can fully immerse myself in my wine making adventures. Not to mention fully immerse into my paper making, water colours, mixed media, spinning and weaving abilities, without the constant stress of 'the next event'.
If you were hoping to book a class for 2017 you can keep an eye on possible available dates here in case of a cancellation. Please email me for a link to the cost/requirements pages for hosts.
A new chapter has been opened in The Book of Roo and I can't wait to discover what it will bring!
